A 21 year-old man is in custody after police say he caused two separate vehicle accidents, while impaired.
Police report a 911 call first came in at 11:24 p.m., Saturday regarding an impaired driver in the 3500 block of 8th Street East. Officers say they observed an sedan travelling at a high rate of speed west bound a few blocks away. The driver of the vehicle then allegedly collided with another sedan, and when officers arrived the suspect vehicle continued driving away. The other driver, a 28 year-old man, was not injured and was able to drive his vehicle from the scene.
Further down 8th Street, in the 1800 block, officers say they then saw the driver hit a compact car, leaving a 62 year-old man trapped inside. He was able to be removed from the vehicle with help from the Saskatoon Fire Department and was treated by Medavie Health Services for minor injuries. Both vehicles were towed from the scene with substantial damage and the 21 year-old was arrested. He faces charges of impaired driving and dangerous driving.
