$25,000 is estimated in damages after a garage fire in Saskatoon on Saturday evening.
The Saskatoon Fire Department says it received a 911 call, reporting a fire in the 100 block of Cartier Crescent, in Confederation Park. Firefighters discovered a garage that was on fire and began to use hose lines to knock down the flames on the outside to get inside the structure. Once the fire was brought under control, a search discovered a deceased dog inside. There were no injuries to civilians or firefighters.
Due to the cold temperatures an additional engine was dispatched to the scene to relieve firefighters working in the extreme cold. The cause of the fire is undetermined and not considered suspicious.
