Statistics Canada says, nationally, full-time undergraduate students will, on average, pay 5.3 per cent less in tuition fees this year and graduate students will pay 4.5 per cent less. Not so in Saskatchewan where undergrads will hand over 3.3 per cent more and graduate students will pay 4.1 per cent more. That hike for graduate student is the highest in the nation. The big winners are in Ontario where students in both categories will pay nearly 10 per cent less in tuition costs. Tuition costs here were higher than the national average in four tracked fields of study. In each case, we were either third or fourth highest in the nation. Across the board, Newfoundland and Labrador had the lowest fees. As an example, for business management and public administration, students there pay $2,759. In Saskatchewan, the cost is $7,549.
