According to a Leger poll, 51 per cent of Canadians are not confident that the federal government will meet its objectives to vaccinate all Canadians who want a vaccine by the end of September. 69 per cent feel the delay in delivering vaccines is due more to the federal capacity to obtain doses versus the province’s capacity to deliver them.

The poll shows 50 per cent of Canadians think Ottawa should accelerate the approval of other vaccines that are already available in other countries to help meet the vaccination target.

If there are further delays in getting Health Canada approved vaccines, then one-in-five Canadians think Canada should seek to approve vaccines developed in Russian or China.

14 per cent of Canadians do not intend to get the vaccine when one becomes available. When you ask Americans, that number jumps to 29 per cent who do not intend to get the vaccine.
