Statistics Canada says the Consumer Price Index rose at a faster pace in January – up 1 per cent year over year – than in December when it rose 0.7 per cent. The acceleration in consumer prices was largely due to higher prices for durable goods and rising gasoline prices.
In Saskatchewan, inflation was up 0.9 per cent in January compared to the same month the year before. In Saskatoon, Inflation rose 1.1 per cent. In Regina it rose 0.7 per cent.
