Canadian Cameron Judge has decided against returning to Saskatchewan, signing a free agent deal with Toronto Wednesday.
T-S-N says the 2019 West Division nominee for Most Outstanding Canadian while with the Roughriders will be the C-F-L’s highest-paid linebacker…getting $137,000 in actual salary on a one-year deal, which could become $160,000 with incentives plus a $45,000 signing bonus. Judge played 17 games for the Green and White in 2019, finishing with 61 tackles, five sacks and two interceptions. The Riders released the 26-year-old early so he could pursue N-F-L opportunities before signing him ahead of the 2020 C-F-L season, which was cancelled, thus becoming a free agent.
In addition, the Roughriders were busy Wednesday morning…announcing a bit of a roster shuffle. The Green and White announced the signing of import offensive lineman Chidi Okeke while releasing four players…Canadian defensive back Shamar Busby along with import defensive lineman Kelcy Quarles and a pair of import O-Linemen in Lanard Bonner and Devon Johnson. As well, the Riders announced that import receiver Artavis Scott retired after accepting a coaching opportunity.
