Saskatchewan’s Premier and Health Minister toured the COVID-19 mass immunization clinic set up at Evraz Place in Regina today (Thurs).
Premier Scott Moe is confident that Saskatchewan is ready to get vaccines into people’s arms more quickly, once adequate supplies are received.
The delivery plan for Phase 2 also includes a combination of mobile vaccination units and drive-through options in some locations.
It’s expected each immunization table at the mass clinics will be able to deliver six to seven vaccines per hour, with 30 tables at the Regina location.
An additional 19 vaccines per hour are expected at the drive-through sites.
Moe says there will be 226 vaccine clinics, including nearly 150 mass clinics along with mobile clinics and drive-through clinics across the province.
At its earliest, Moe expects Phase 2 to being in April, and the availabilities will be prioritized by age.
Saskatchewan Health Authority CEO, Scott Livingstone, said last week that information will be publicly shared to let you know when it’s your turn for a vaccination, which along with the immunization clinics will include at participating doctors’ offices and pharmacies, and through some community based organizations, and First Nations and Metis communities.
