Saskatoon Police have a city man in custody in connection with an attempted robbery.

Police say the suspect told a pharmacy store clerk he had a gun and demanded cash but fled when the clerk refused.

Employees from the store on the 200 block of 2nd Avenue North followed the man, alerted responding officers and the suspect was found nearby.

The incident happened just after noon on Tuesday.

He is also facing a breach of probation charge.
