This weekend will make being outside a little more palatable, but the City of Saskatoon and Meewasin have some tips to make sure the natural habitats and the wildlife within it are protected. They include staying on designated trails, staying away from naturalized ponds that are not designated for skating and leaving the areas the way you find them. ATVs, snowmobiles, dirt bikes and other motorized vehicles are not allowed in natural areas.
Manager of Planning and Conservation at Meewasin, Mike Velonas, says many regions of the Meewasin Valley contain significant ecosystems and habitat and many animals depend on these spaces.
He encourages everyone to explore nature, but keep these tips in mind while you are enjoying the outdoors.
