Three East Division teams, including the Saskatoon Blades, received their top forward and, arguably, their best player from the N-H-L and their respective team’s American League affiliate on Sunday.

       The Bridge City Bunch are getting 19-year-old Tristen Robins back in the fold, as are the Prince Albert Raiders with Oy Wiesblatt and the Winnipeg ICE with Peyton Krebs. With the W-H-L’s East Division set to return to play March 12th in the “dubble” in Regina, the N-H-L-C-H-L player development agreement kicks back into effect. Any player aged 18 or 19 either plays in the N-H-L or has to be returned to his major junior club. While the pandemic had shut down the C-H-L for most of the last five months, that allowed N-H-L teams to bring junior-eligible players to their training camps and then send them to start the A-H-L’s campaign. Robins and Wiesblatt had both been with San Jose’s affiliate, the San Jose Barracuda, while Krebs had been with Vegas’ A-H-L farm club in Henderson, Nevada. Robins was the Sharks’ second round pick in last year’s N-H-L Draft and signed a contract on New Year’s Eve. He was a minus-one with two shots on goal in two A-H-L games. Wiesblatt was San Jose’s first round choice last year while Krebs was the Golden Knights’ first round selection in the 2019 Draft. All will go into self-isolation and join their teams in the Regina “dubble.”
