Combined Traffic Services Saskatchewan issued over 3800 summary offense tickets within Saskatoon last year.
The CTSS patrols provincial highways and within the city, as a partnership between the Saskatoon Police Service Traffic Unit, the RCMP and SGI. The tickets issued in Saskatoon amount to about 27% of the total number issued throughout the province, and represent a 10% drop from 2019. A big reason for the drop was CTSS officers were temporarily re-deployed to patrol in March and April, to help at the beginning of the pandemic. No summary offense tickets were issued at that time.
In 2020 provincially funded CTSS officers also executed 67 outstanding warrants and impounded 87 vehicles.
2020 was the seventh year of operation for the CTSS, that consists of ten officers that operate on highways and in Saskatoon.
