Weyburn country music artist Tenille Arts has been nominated for an Academy of Country Music Award.
Arts was nominated for New Female Artist of the year. Also nominated for the award are Ingrid Andress, Gabby Barrett, Mickey Guyton, and Caylee Hammack. The ACM Awards go Sunday, April 18th.
Arts watched the nominations on TV not knowing what to expect and says it was an unreal moment to experience. Arts has received many accolades over the past couple of years, but she admits this one may be the biggest. “This is really my first big recognition in the U.S., I guess, and I’m just so, so excited.”
She thinks there is a reason as to why she has become so popular south of the border. “I think I’m kind of bringing back some of that 90’s female country. It kind of has that cool sass to it, but it talks about real relationships, it wasn’t super fairy tale, it wasn’t all over the place, this is what real life is.”
