Two residents of a home on Dalmeny Road in the R-M of Corman Park were transported to hospital with minor injuries as a result of a garage fire on their property…but a dog lost its life in the blaze which had fire damage estimated at about $200,000 to the structure, vehicles and contents.
The Saskatoon Fire Department were called at 1:11 Monday afternoon by R-C-M-P and were able to bring the fire under control by 2:03. However, the garage was fully involved with fire and the flames were moving in on the attached house when three engines, a rescue unit, a brush truck and a tanker arrived on the scene. In addition to the dog succumbing to the fire and the two occupants taken to hospital, the Saskatoon Fire Department’s rescue unit was able to resuscitate a cat with the use of their pet mask.
