The City of Saskatoon is currently constructing a dry storm pond in W.W. Ashley District Park located in the city’s Haultain neighbourhood.
The project is part of the city’s Flood Control Strategy which will consist of nine endeavors to help reduce flooding throughout Saskatoon’s most flood-prone areas.
If City Council approves the next project on March 22nd, planning will begin on a dry storm pond in Churchill Park with construction expected to begin next year.
The ponds are designed to hold water that would otherwise cause flooding during severe rainfalls.
There are currently eight dry storm ponds located throughout the city.
