The Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes Unit, along with members from Swift Current and Yorkton and the Saskatchewan Coroner’s Service are investigating a suspicious death in Swift Current.
Thursday night around 11:30, Swift Current Municipal RCMP responded to a call about an injured female at an apartment building in the 200 block of 7th Avenue Northwest. Prior to being taken to the hospital for treatment of serious injuries, police say she told them there was a second injured person. She was found dead in an apartment building in the 600 block of Chaplin Street.
The investigation took officers to a third woman at a home in the 500 block of Colonel Otter Drive. She was arrested without incident around 1:15 this morning (Fri). Police say all three are known to each other and they are not seeking any other suspects. There is also no risk to public safety and the investigation is ongoing.
There will continue to be an increased police presence at the three locations for at least the remainder of today, so non-residents are asked to avoid the area.
