Four people including one youth are facing charges related to an investigation by the Lloydminster RCMP which began with pursuing a stolen vehicle and ended with the alleged seizure of what the RCMP describe as a large amount of drugs, firearms and weapons.
Police say around noon on February 25th, officers noticed a stolen vehicle connected to a prior serious occurrence. The vehicle fled, but with assistance from the North Battleford Crime Reduction Team and Lloydminster Police Dog Services, police were able to locate and arrest everyone in the vehicle.
Two men, 27 and 21 years old from Onion Lake, a 19 year old man from the Makwa Sahgaiehcan First Nation and a 17 year old male from the Big Island Lake Cree Territory are facing numerous charges including flight from a peace officer, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking and possession of meth.
Twenty-seven year old Matthew Stanley from Onion Lake was remanded into custody and will appear in court on March 16. Twenty-one year old Kashtin Sandfly of Onion Lake and 19 year old Samuel Kiseyinewakup of the Makwa Sahgaiehcan First Nation failed to appear in court on March 2nd and there are now warrants for their arrests. The teen is scheduled to appear in youth court in lloydminster on Monday.
