The Saskatchewan NDP wants immediate consultation with Indigenous leadership on the redevelopment of Provincial Capital Commission bylaws.
A new set of bylaws will be released by the PCC this Thursday after a ruling last year from the Court of Queen’s Bench that the bylaws are unconstitutional.
NDP critic Betty Nippi-Albright (pictured at podium) says she is concerned with the lack of consultation after the same bylaws were used or were attempted to be used to remove Indigenous-led ceremonies and demonstrations.
The bylaws were deemed unconstitutional last summer by the Court of Queen’s Bench following the Walking With Our Angels camp in Wascana Park.
