The second of six major curling events to be held in the Calgary curling bubble, The Tim Horton’s Brier…Canadian Men’s Championship, continues today and runs through Sunday. There are 18 teams taking part, split into two pools of nine teams each for preliminary round-robin play. Once that is done, the top four teams from each pool will advance into the championship pool to complete round-robin qualifying. From there, the top three teams advance to the playoffs on Sunday. Saskatchewan is represented by the Matt Dunstone foursome from Regina/Wadena. They have 5 wins, 2 losses…tied for 2nd place in Pool B. On their schedule today…

The Western Hockey League returns to action tomorrow when the East Division “Dubble” gets started in Regina and the Central Division continues play. The Saskatoon Blades’ first of 24 games will be on Saturday against the Swift Current Broncos. The broadcast on 98-COOL starts at 3:30 p.m. with the Sardinia Family Restaurant pre-game show and the play-by-play at 4 p.m. The Prince Albert Raiders play their first game in the Regina hub tomorrow against the Regina Pats at 8 p.m.
