Tickets for the 2021 Tim Hortons Curling Trials, which are scheduled for Nov. 20-28, will go on sale on Friday, April 9, at 11 a.m. CT.

The 2021 Tim Hortons Curling Trials can be described as the most important event in Canadian curling. Nine men’s and nine women’s teams will be in Saskatoon, competing for the right to represent Canada in four-player curling at the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing.

And because of that, and because the event is being played in curling’s heartland, ticket demand is expected to be extremely high.

Of course, it’s understood that as we approach the end of the COVID-19 pandemic Curling Canada will be thoroughly committed to making sure fans, athletes and the host city of Saskatoon are kept as safe as possible, and there may be changes in ticketing plans leading up to the event as more information becomes available and safety measures evolve to current situations.

“As was the case leading up to our events in the Calgary bubble, we will take every precaution and maintain constant contact with local, regional and national health authorities leading up to the Tim Hortons Curling Trials,” said Katherine Henderson, Chief Executive Officer of Curling Canada. “We know there is a moving target that needs to be tracked on what can and can’t happen, but we feel confident and optimistic that we are headed in the right direction and that fans will have an amazing in-arena experience watching Canada’s best teams go head-to-head for the right to represent their country.”

Ticket packages will be available online at www.curling.ca/2021trials/tickets.  Initially, for a limited time until April 25, fans will also be able to purchase tickets in person at the SaskTel Centre box office or by phone by calling (306) 938-7800 or 1-800-970-SEAT (7328).

Customers looking to secure their preferred seats will need to act quickly. Initially, only every other row will be sold until public health officials announce that full capacity will be permitted.

Curling fans will have three options for full-event packages when they go on sale on April 9:

• Standard Full Event Package ($489)
• Premium Full Event Package ($539) — A limited number of AWAY-end and first-row upper-level seats will be made available.
• Premium Home end ($579) — A limited number of HOME-end seats will be available.

All ticket packages are subject to standard facility and ticket service fees. Weekend, weekday and single-draw tickets will go on sale at a later date.

“Saskatchewan has a proven track record of hosting national and international sports events. Our people are known for their hospitality and welcoming spirit — not to mention our love of curling,” Minister Responsible for Tourism Saskatchewan Jeremy Harrison said. “The 2021 Tim Hortons Curling Trials will give the province the opportunity to showcase Saskatchewan’s community pride.”

Nine men’s and nine women’s teams will be in Saskatoon, culminating three years of trying to qualify. They will play a single round-robin draw, and the top three teams will reach the playoffs, with second and third-place teams meeting in semifinals, and the first-place team going straight to the final — one win away from the Olympic Games.

The pandemic has forced some changes to the qualifying process, but we do some of the teams that will be in Saskatoon. On the men’s side, Team John Epping (Toronto), Team Brad Gushue (St. John’s, N.L.), Team Kevin Koe (Calgary), Team Brad Jacobs (Sault Ste. Marie) and Team Brendan Bottcher (Edmonton) have all nailed down their berths into the Tim Hortons Curling Trials.

Women’s teams headed to Saskatoon in November are Team Rachel Homan (Ottawa), Team Jennifer Jones (Winnipeg), Team Kerri Einarson (Gimli, Man.) and Team Tracy Fleury (East St. Paul, Man.).
