A dangerous person alert that was issued by Meadow Lake RCMP on Wednesday has resulted in charges against Jordan Andrew Scott Nelson of Meadow Lake.

In the alert, RCMP were looking for a man last known to be carrying a large axe or edged weapon travelling on grids roads north of Meadow Lake driving a four door brown car.

The 28 year old suspect was found and arrested Wednesday afternoon in the 100 block of Second Street East in Meadow Lake.

He was charged with one count of Attempted Murder and one count of Aggravated Assault with a Weapon. Jordan Nelson remains in custody and is back in court Friday (March 12).

The victim and the accused know each other. A 74 year old man from Meadow Lake remains in hospital.
