The Saskatoon Public Schools says a COVID-19 outbreak has been declared by the Saskatchewan Health Authority at Lawson Heights School. There have been two positive cases at the school have been identified, the most recent on March 11th. At Lawson Heights School, there is one class that has moved to online learning until March 23.
The school division was also notified of seven positive cases of COVID-19 over the weekend: two at Sylvia Fedoruk School; two at Chief Whitecap School; and one each at Ernest Lindner, Hugh Cairns V.C. and Princess Alexandra schools.
Since the start of the school year, Saskatoon Public Schools has had 257 positive cases of COVID-19 at 54 locations in the division.
Also on the weekend in the Greater Saskatoon Catholic Schools, the Saskatchewan Health Authority notified the school division of a COVID-19 case in an individual at St. Edward School. The affected class will switch to online instruction.
