The NDP’s finance critic says it is time for Scott Moe to start answering questions about the province’s finances and to start telling the 23,000 people who have lost their job because of the pandemic what plans the government has to get them working again.

Trent Wotherspoon says it is ridiculous that we are still waiting for a third-quarter update from the government and that the spring session of the legislature isn’t already underway.

Wotherspoon says the Premier is trying to sell Saskatchewan a false bill of goods and that some accountability is needed.

Government House leader Jeremy Harrison says the NDP is proving why they have very little credibility in the province after their claim that a jobs plan is needed to get Saskatchewan people back to work.

Jobs critic Aleana Young says Scott Moe needs to tell the 23-thousand people who lost their jobs how he is going to get them back to work and that he is out of touch with the needs of the province.

Harrison says many programs currently in place show that a plan already in place is working. he says surveys of small businesses have indicated the province has performed better than any jurisdiction in the country. He says it’s because they do have a plan and have provided real and significant supports that have gotten businesses through the pandemic.

Harrison also wonders how Young and the NDP can demand lockdowns as they have for months which would put thousands out of work and close businesses forever, yet demand that there be a hiring boom. He says the opposition should pick a lane.
