Saskatchewan RCMP say there is now a new way to report crime. The RCMP has launched an Online Crime Reporting tool and all you need is a valid email address and Internet connection to report crimes online. The type of crimes which can be reported include things like damage or mischief to property under $5,000 or Lost or Found property.
There are also certain conditions which must be met such no witnesses or suspects and there are no items involving personal identity, firearms, or license plates. A list of types of crimes eligible for online reporting as well as the conditions are in this story at cjwwradio.com.
Online Crime Reporting has been piloted in Swift Current, Yorkton, Kindersley,Melfort, Humboldt and Spiritwood since the beginning of February and this new tool is now being launched province wide.

The following crimes can be reported through the Online Crime Reporting tool:
• Damage/mischief to property under $5,000
• Theft of bicycle under $5,000
• Theft under $5,000
• Theft from vehicle under $5,000
• Lost or found property
• Damage/mischief to vehicle under $5000
Incidents must also satisfy the following conditions to be reported online:
• No witnesses or suspects
• Item(s) lost or stolen must cost less than $5,000
• Vandalized property that will cost less than $5,000 to repair
• There are no items involving personal identity, firearms, license plates or decals
