The Prince Albert Police Criminal Investigation Division has been brought into the investigation after a body was found at the scene of a house fire and subsequent explosion. It happened on the 500 block of 5th Street East around 1:40 Saturday afternoon. Homes within a one block radius were evacuated due to the incident. At last word, police had not confirmed the identity of the deceased and the Chief Coroner’s office has ordered an autopsy. Police are treating the death as suspicious.

Police are asking anyone who has information or video surveillance footage from the area on Saturday, between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., to contact Prince Albert Police or Crime Stoppers.
