An international leader in salivary research has joined the University of Saskatchewan College of Dentistry. Doctor Walter Siqueira assumes the posts of professor and acting associate dean Graduate Studies and Internationalization in the College. The university says Siqueira’s research provides a wealth of information about how our bodies work and can be used in the detection, prognosis, and treatment of oral and systemic diseases. He says saliva is used to look at oral health but this research takes it a step further and is using it to look at overall, systemic health.
