All Regina Public High Schools are closed. That was effective yesterday. All in-school classes are scheduled to resume on April 12th after the spring break.
Regina is the hotspot for variants of concern in the province and has greater restrictions for public health orders. As of Wednesday, 954 variants of concern (VOC) have been identified by screening in Saskatchewan and 86% of them are in Regina.
Meanwhile, the Saskatchewan Health Authority says there is a positive COVID-19 case at Bethlehem Catholic High School that is being investigated as a possible Variant of Concern. Parents and caregivers are being informed and it is recommended all close contacts get tested. The affected cohort will switch to online learning.
Greater Saskatoon Catholic Schools also says with the emergency of Variants of Concern in the province that it is of great importance students perform a daily health screening, practice proper hand hygiene, maintain physical distancing as much as possible and wear a mask.
