There is no end to the number of dogs that need homes.
That from the Executive Director of New Hope Dog Rescue, Tami Vangool, who says during the pandemic there has been an increase in the number of adoptions and people wanting to foster, but there are still thousands of dogs in Saskatchewan in need.
There is the concern once the pandemic has eased and people are no longer working from home that some dogs will be brought back to the rescues they came from.
Vangool expects there will be separation anxiety for some of the pets, but she hopes the families will work with their animals before making that decision.
New Hope is working with Pet Planet right now to fill the need for harnesses for all of the fosters.
The Executive Director explains that to these dogs, the rescuers and fosters are strangers and the dogs may be nervous and want to run away, so having a harness is an extra level of security.
Anyone who wants to donate can do so through Pet Planet.
Sister station 98 Cool also has the Advantage Collision Drop Off For Dogs where you can drop off toys or food at the Saskatoon or Prince Albert autobody shop for chances to win prizes.
