The City of Saskatoon says high winds and a combination of rain and blowing snow are causing slight snow accumulation, and icy conditions on roadways, bridges, intersections and sidewalks.  There is also reduced visibility around the city.  Crews are clearing snow off Circle Drive,other expressways, and at locations where snow has drifted onto the roadway.  Crews are monitoring high traffic roads and applying de-icing material when required.

The city is recommending residents stay off the roads, if possible, and drivers that do venture out should be prepared for icy roads, snow accumulation and reduced visibility.  If behind snow equipment stay at least two to three vehicle links behind and prepare to stop quickly.  Wet and blowing snow can also cover traffic signals and road signs, the city says to stay aware at intersections.

Saskatoon Light & Power staff are dealing with service interruptions and issues as they occur.  Service alerts with regular updated will be issued.

Saskatoon transit continues regular service but may be affected by any changes in weather.

The City Landfill is temporarily closed due to reduced visibility and blowing debris.  Curbside waste collections are expected to continue as scheduled, but residents are reminded to store waste carts as soon as possible due to high winds.
