The Saskatoon Public School board of Education is moving ahead with studies on two proposed locations for a new school that will combine the King George, Pleasant Hill and Princess Alexandra school communities.
At its planning and development committee meeting last week, the Board of Education received the preliminary review of the seven sites and requested comprehensive site validation studies on two locations: Princess Alexandra School site and Optimist Park.
Each study will include test fits that will show what a school could potentially look like on each site, including information on outdoor spaces, playgrounds, traffic, parking and more. Saskatoon Public Schools says this information will be shared in Mid-April at which time public engagement will begin.
The school board is expected to decided on a location for the new school by the end of the school year. So far the Provincial Government has allocated $29 million to the project.
