Saskatchewan Polytechnic has received $951,344 from the Government of Canada’s Future Skills Centre as part of the Shock-proofing the Future of Work partnership. Sask Polytech’s is one of 64 innovation projects to receive funding.
The Sask Polytech Digital Transformation in Applied Learning project is supposed to introduce innovation in online learning for current post-secondary programs from the information technology, agriculture and food chain supply, health care, manufacturing and warehousing sectors. The aim of the training programs is to provide a virtual, supportive, connected experience and increase student success, allowing learners to gain the skills needed to find and keep good, well-paying jobs.

Pedro Barata, is the executive director of the Future Skills Centre. He says that introducing online learning to existing programs provides a supportive and connected experience.
