NDP Finance Critic Trent Wotherspoon wants to see the Saskatchewan government use dollars to create jobs in the province.

Wotherspoon has been critical of the government’s budget by saying it lacks a jobs plan during a time when thousands of people are out of work due to COVID-19.

He says the government should be keeping opportunities in the province rather than giving those chances to people and organizations outside of Saskatchewan. He says we see a relentless outsourcing of jobs and money, both out of province and out of country. Wotherspoon says we need a Sask-first procurement approach.

Wotherspoon added there is potential for renewable power and clean technology investments that could boost job numbers.
