A huge drug bust in Manitoba. Eighty-one kilograms of cocaine allegedly taken off the streets. Estimated street value: $7.6 million. On top of that, $1.5 million cash seized. The operation, dubbed Project Drone culminated in the seizure on Monday.
Manitoba RCMP Federal Policing Units say they have disrupted a major international drug trafficking network responsible for importing significant quantities of illicit drugs into Manitoba through Ontario.
Superintendent Darcy Fleury, Federal Policing, Manitoba RCMP says, “This cocaine seizure is believed to be the largest of its kind in Manitoba history. It will undoubtedly have a major impact on the organized crime and illicit drug landscape within Manitoba.”
41 year old Stephen Ferenc Stumpf of Peterborough, Ontario, is charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking and Possession of Proceeds of Crime Over $5000.00
