Import defensive lineman Chad Geter is back with the Saskatchewan Roughriders.
Geter played with the Riders last year, but started this season in Montreal. He has been signed to the practice roster and was on the field as the Green and White returned to practice.
The Roughriders also released Canadian kicker Gabe Ferraro and import defensive back Solomon Means. Ferraro filled in for Brett Lauther when he was injured. Means started the season as a starting cornerback, but lost his job to L-J McCray a few weeks back.

Geter (6’2 – 253 lbs) rejoins the Roughriders after spending the earlier part of the season with the Montreal Alouettes. Geter initially signed with the Roughriders April of 2018 and played in 18 regular season games and the Western Semi-Final registering 19 defensive tackles, 17 special-teams tackles, three quarterback sacks, three tackles for loss and one forced fumble. Geter spent five seasons Gardner-Webb University earning 203 solo tackles, 142 assists, 35.5 tackles for losses, 10.5 sacks, five forced fumbles, three interceptions and two fumble recoveries in 47 collegiate games. The 25-year-old was named an All-Big South Conference performer three times in his college career and was selected as an FCS All-American after the 2016 season.
