The provincial government has changed the vaccine rollout plan.
First responders will be prioritized through mobile vaccination units. but that won’t happen until current priority populations are complete.
While some workers are receiving the vaccine, others will be left out, such as school staff. Health Minister Paul Merriman
says they are still working with a very limited amount of vaccines at the moment.
The government also says that only 67 per cent of the eligible Phase 1 priority health care workers went to receive their 1st dose.
NDP Leader Ryan Meili says he has real concerns about this.
He’d like details on how that breaks down; who isn’t getting the vaccine? has the availability actually been there for them?
Health Minister Paul Merriman said he is not sure why those health care workers have not received their 1st dose yet; he’s spoken to union leaders to see if there’s something that can be done to make sure they all receive their vaccine.
