As variants of concern continue to rise, the Ministry of Health on Monday urged residents in several Saskatchewan communities to stay vigilant about following personal protective measures and public health protocols. Public health officials are most concerned about four regions including Regina which has 2,423 V-O-C cases, South Central has 309, Southeast has 348 and Saskatoon now has 181.  As of April 12, 3,485 variants of concern have been identified by screening in Saskatchewan.

The drive-thru immunization clinic located in Regina is open for those who are aged 49 to 54 years only. Those 55 years of age and older can still receive vaccine by booking online or via telephone.

Fifty-two per cent of Saskatchewan residents age 50 and older have received their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine. The Pfizer shipment of 31,590 doses is expected today and tomorrow to be distributed throughout he province. The April 19th Moderna shipment is delayed. Residents will be contacted if their booking is affected.

Regina and area is still under stricter public health protocols as in restricting gatherings to only their household, bars and restaurants are open for pick up and delivery only, Regina residents are urged to work from home and the travel in and out of the area is not recommended.  Additional drive-thru vaccination clinics have been added to both North Battleford and Humboldt this week.
