The City of Prince Albert is advising the public that controlled burns will be taking place by the Prince Albert Fire Department starting Thursday.
The first location is the drainage ditch starting at 15th Street East and working south, ending at 6th Avenue East. Work will continue each day until complete. This location is expected to take about one week, depending on weather conditions. Other areas will include a section south of Wesmor School and south of Barton Drive.
Controlled burns are used as a way to mitigate grass fires by clearing out high hazard areas. Drivers should know that when driving in these areas visibility may be reduced due to smoke.
