The remembrance of 9-11 involved Saskatoon service members which spanned oceans. Earlier Wednesday morning in Iraq, peacekeepers, including Saskatoon Police Service Staff Sergeant Nolan Berg, joined in a pre-dawn 5 kilometre uniform ruck march at a nearby base in remembrance of the tragedy which struck on this day 18 years ago.
In Saskatoon, firefighters stand to attention to alarm tones at 9:59 a.m. at Fire Station No. 1 on Idylwyld Drive South. It is in honour of the firefighters, paramedics, law enforcement officers and civilians who lost their lives on the grounds of the World Trade Centre.
