Police have made multiple arrests after receiving a complaint of a man pointing a gun at a woman walking her dog on Saturday morning.

Police report at 7:38 a.m. in the 400 block of Pendygrasse Road they received the call of a man driving a black Dodge Journey who allegedly had pointed the gun, while officers weren’t able to find the vehicle in the area, a license plate that was given was traced to the 2900 block of Preston Avenue South.  Two men were inside the vehicle which allegedly took off immediately, stopping to drop off the passenger several blocks later.  The passenger was taken into custody without incident and released later.

Police then located the vehicle parked behind the same home at 12:41 p.m. where they found the suspect and say he became confrontational.  Police allege he lifted his shirt and showed that he was wearing a bullet proof vest and also say he had numerous knives tucked into his waist band.

Police say a Conducted Energy Weapon or taser was used at that point but say a woman came out and allegedly attempted to pull the CEW probes out. When the male suspect attempted to get up a second officer deployed their CEW, and both he and the woman were taken into custody.

A 31 year-old man is charged with evade police, dangerous driving, pointing a firearm, possession of a prohibited weapon, various other weapons charges, and had a warrant for his arrest for sexual assault.
