According to the Saskatoon Airport Authority, ridesharing at the John G. Diefenbaker Airport is starting to take off. CJ Dushinski (doo SHIN skee) says they have no official data to go off of yet, as reports on the number of rideshares in and out of the airport will be issued each quarter; although, from what they can see, more and more people are utilizing ridesharing services. “We’ve seen a pretty good uptake in just users using the service, we see a lot of people out there waiting for rides, we see a lot of drivers waiting in our staging area in the cell phone lot waiting for trips to pick up.” says Dushinski. Rel8well and UBER are the only two companies operating out of the airport. Dushinski says both signed five-year agreements with the airport earlier this summer with the airport offering ridesharing services for the first time on June 24th. Dushinski adds once the five-year agreement is up, each company will have their contract renewed on a yearly basis.
