Jane’s Walk Saskatoon Festival is back, after missing the 2020 Festival due to COVID 19.
Jane’s Walk is a series of free, volunteer-led walking conversations inspired by Jane Jacobs. It encourages people to share stories about their neighbourhoods, discover unseen aspects of their communities, and use walking as a way to connect with their neighbours.

This year, it involves a series of self-guided walks which will be available for the entire year.
Each year on the weekend nearest to her birthday (the first weekend in May); Jane’s Walks honour the legacy and ideas of urban activist and writer Jane Jacobs – who championed the interests of local residents and pedestrians over a car-centered approach to community planning.

Originally, the plan was to begin the event at the Remai Modern Art Gallery with a screening of a documentary and a locally-produced short film, however, The Remai Modern has paused all programs for the public including the film program; as such, the  in-person  film component of the Jane’s Walk weekend has been suspended.
