In less than 24 hours, Thompson, Manitoba RCMP charged a 25 year old woman, twice for violating the Public Health Act concerning COVID-19.
Saturday night around 11:30, officers were called to an apartment complex on Cree Road, in Thompson, on a report of a party at that location. Officers say they observed a large group of people inside. The 25-year-old renter was charged with Failing to Comply with a Public Health Order and fined $1,296. Officers then asked her guests to leave. None of them were ticketed.
The next day, around 8:15 pm, officers were told of another large gathering at the same address. Police returned and once again allegedly saw numerous people inside, which led to the same woman receiving a second ticket for a $1,296 fine.
