Flin Flon RCMP officers say they were threatened at their detachment Monday evening. Just before midnight, two officers were at work when they heard a strong, rapid knocking on the locked front door. They thought it sounded like someone was trying to punch through the door. One officer went to another entrance at the side of the detachment and saw a man looking into the police vehicles, and when he heard the door open, police say he took on an aggressive posture and ran towards the door. The officer was able to pull the door closed.

The two officers then left from another door and tried to apprehend the man. Police allege he advanced on the officers quickly and aggressively. They say he did not follow commands to stop; so, they tasered him and took him into custody.

The 36-year-old from The Pas is charged with Assaulting a Police Officer, Resisting Arrest, and he had a warrant for his arrest for Failure to Comply with Probation Orders.
