Nutrien is committing $20,000 to the Circle Project of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Saskatoon. The project targets high-risk, vulnerable youth in the 10 to 18 age group. There is an added focus on youth who live in care.
Executive Director, Kim Megyesi says, “Our work is providing access to mentorship opportunities to youth seeking support, with understanding adult mentors who create positive impact by listening, guiding, and inspiring resiliency.” She says, “Mentorship has been proven to help break the cycle of poverty, drugs and violence by encouraging healthy lifestyles, furthering education, accelerating engagement into society, and ultimately – providing access and opportunity to youth.”
Nutrien is also providing Tim Hortons gift cards to Little Brothers and Little Sisters so they can say thank you with a treat for their mentors during Volunteer Appreciation Week.
