Thomas Rhett says the pandemic forced him to take a step back and reevaluate his music. And when he returned, he had a fresh perspective that inspired his new album.
Quote, “The first 30 or 40 days of quarantine, I was freaking out because I didn’t know what to do. I was like, ‘We’re supposed to be in rehearsal. We’re supposed to be on the road. We’re supposed to be doing this.'”
And then his wife Laura told him to take a chill pill and do a little living. So he did, for almost two months. It was the longest he was ever away from songwriting, but when he came back he wrote “Country Again”.
Quote, “And then the songs just started flowing out of me. I was like, ‘What do I want to say? What do I want to write? If this had nothing to do with anything in the world, what would I say if nobody was in here?’ And the songs from this album flowed out of that.”
“Country Again: Side A” is available right now!
