A new mobile classroom which uses virtual reality can show Saskatchewan elementary students what it feels and looks like to drive impaired. SmartWheels is MADD Canada’s latest initiative to bring sober driving education to young students. The new technology was launched on Thursday in Regina. MADD Canada CEO, Andrew Murie, says the goal is to reach younger students before they hit driving age, to provide them with safety strategies long before they need to make decisions about such things. SGI and the Saskatchewan Liquor and Gaming Authority are partnering with MADD on this initiative. SmartWheels already has 96 presentations scheduled at 33 schools in the province between now and late October. Schools that are interested, can contact MADD Canada.
