Mitch Picton will start in a C-F-L game for the first time in his home-town Saturday when the Saskatchewan Roughriders host the Montreal Alouettes.
The Green and White released their 46-man roster (pictured) and depth chart (below) Friday morning, both of which confirmed what seemed apparent from Thursday’s practice session…the U of Regina Rams’ grad will start in place of Justin McInnis at the Canadian receiver position in the Riders’ offence. Picton is expected to share reps with Brayden Lenius.
Meanwhile, the Riders are making three other changes to their 46…all at depth positions and to help out on special teams. Coming on to the roster are Canadian offensive lineman Jake Bennett along with import D-linemen Chad Geter and Earl Okine. McInnis goes to the one-game injured while linebacker Sean Idowu, offensive lineman Braden Schram and D-lineman Lavar Edwards all go on the practice roster.
Game time Saturday is 5 o’clock.
