Saskatchewan RCMP are asking for the public’s help in finding a woman who may have been abducted and the man who might be responsible.

On Saturday at 11:50 p.m., RCMP were alerted to a possible abduction. The Regina Police Service were initially called when a member of the public had received a concerning message from Stephanie Bruch, 30 years old, of Regina. The message came via Facebook.

Police quickly identified a suspect and a suspect vehicle, and a search began involving officers from the Melville, Wynyard, Fort Qu’Appelle and Punnichy RCMP detachments, as well as a Saskatoon Police Service Air Support Unit.

The suspect vehicle was found south of Ituna on Highway 10 abandoned in a field with neither the suspect,  who is Kelly Baht, or the Stephanie Bruch being located. About 20 minutes before the suspect vehicle was found abandoned in a field south on Highway 10 near Ituna, Melville RCMP got a report of a man approaching a woman outside her home in Melville.

The man, believed to be Baht, was searching through the woman’s vehicle. When asked by the woman what the man was doing, and after a short conversation, the man got into what RCMP say was an “older white/light grey” small truck and left. The truck had a small quad or ATV in the box.

The public is to not approach Kelly Baht and call 911 if you see him. Anyone with information on this suspected abduction is asked to contact 911 or, anonymously, Crime Stoppers.
