Maxime Bernier, head of the People’s Party of Canada, says he will not pay the fines for the tickets he received in Saskatchewan. Bernier attended three rallies, including here in Saskatoon, protesting COVID regulations. Bernier says he was fined for attending a political protest. He says he was touring Saskatchewan standing up for our rights and freedoms against the ongoing sanitary tyranny that we’ve been living under for more than a year.
Bernier says, “This is not communist China! Canadians have the right to peaceful assembly and I will continue to stand up for that right.” He says the fines are unconstitutional and he will fight them in court. He intends to attend another protest, in Toronto, this weekend.
