Corman Park Police Service says around 3 o’clock on Wednesday afternoon their radar picked up a west bound vehicle on Grasswood Road going 159 km/h in an 80 km/h zone.

Officers suspected the driver had been drinking and the roadside breath test allegedly came back over the provincial legal limit.

The police service says officers were told by the driver that he was driving that speed in an attempt to “knock the rust off the brake rotors.”

The driver was issued a $1,170 speeding ticket, a $360 alcohol ticket, seven day vehicle impoundment and a three day license suspension.
