Early Wednesday morning, Grande Prairie RCMP were told of a laser being pointed at an aircraft.
A commercially operated plane was on its arrival into Grande Prairie when a laser hit the cockpit and distracted the pilots. Shortly after, RCMP received a complaint of a laser being pointed at the driver of a vehicle.
While patrolling the area, an officer had a laser pointed at his body and face, temporarily affecting the officer.
RCMP members figured out where the laser was coming from. They obtained a judicial authorization to enter the residence after the occupant refused to answer the door.
They arrested 20 year old Connor Layher of Grande Prairie and allegedly seized a laser pointer. Layher faces multiple charges including Assault, and Behaviour that Endangers Aircraft.
